Benedita Menezes Queiroz

Benedita Menezes Queiroz is an Assistant Lecturer at the Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (ICJP), and Researcher at the Lisbon Centre for Research in Public Law (CIDP).

Benedita Menezes Queiroz was awarded her diploma of Doctor of Laws from the European University Institute in December 2015. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the analysis of the concept of illegality of migrants’ stays from an EU law perspective. Currently, she is Guest Lecturer at University of Lisbon Faculty of Law, where she teaches the subjects of Human Rights Law, Procedural EU Law and Public International Law. In addition, she is Deputy Secretary General at the Lisbon Centre for Research in Public Law. 

She held a visiting scholar position at COMPAS - Centre on Migration, Policy and Society at Oxford University. Before her doctoral studies Benedita Menezes Queiroz completed an internship and worked as a Research Assistant at the European Court of Justice. She often participates in national and international conferences within her areas of research: EU Migration Law, EU Law and Human Rights Law.
